In 2018 a private Catholic academy hired O’Connor Atchitecture to organize decision-making around a campus expansion plan and to develop the design for a new classroom building.  We worked with the board of directors in a condensed master planning process to identify a future vision for the campus and select the most appropriate site for the new building.

In a highly collaborative process, the design evolved to meet the goals of adding significant classroom space and creating a front door for the institution at an underutilized downtown corner. The strategic use of tinted cast-in-place concrete allows for use of skilled local labor and creates a new classroom setting that is singular in appearance yet visually related to the existing masonry school building.
